99 Laps is a relentless elimination race on a 1.2 km loop. Every 15 minutes, a new lap begins, and the last athlete to finish is eliminated. With 99 eliminations and only one winner, the pressure builds lap after lap. Live timing and a real-time leaderboard keep the intensity high until the very end.
Lap after lap the field got smaller, the flares got brighter and the crowd got louder, until only one athlete was left standing. This was 99 Laps 2026.

Steel, brick and the red glow of the former industrial site in Essen become the backdrop for 24 hours of elimination racing.
99 Laps is an elimination race on a 1.2 km loop. Every 15 minutes a new lap begins, and the last athlete to finish is eliminated. With 99 eliminations there is only one winner.
One lap is 1.2 km. A new lap starts every 15:00 minutes.
If the race goes the full distance, that is 99 laps: 99 × 15:00 = 24:45 hours and 118.8 km in total.
Every athlete runs with a bib transponder. Live timing and a real-time leaderboard show who is in and who is out after every lap.
The race starts on May 29, 2027 at Zeche Zollverein in Essen and continues until May 30, 2027.
